GO Sustainable is a medium term project to transition Council facilities to renewable energy reducing power drawn from the grid. Council will carry out transition to solar pv systems over the next five years, targeting the highest consuming sites first.

Avongro Inc is trialing the effect on native timber crops on saline land, when pre-treated with Frankia, a nitrogen-fixing bacteria that lives in symbiosis with some plants letting them grow in soils that are saline, low in nutrients, have extreme pH or even heavy metal pollution.
