Harvest/Total Movement Ban Notification Available by SMS

To be included on the shire's SMS notification list, please let us know your name and mobile number, as well as your phone and fax numbers and email address.

All harvest and total movement bans are notified to CBH wheatbins and advertised on ABC Geraldton and Perth radio, Radiowest and Hot FM.

Monday to Friday

The Shire of Goomalling will impose harvest bans and notify you via:

  • UHF Channel 40
  • SMS to registered mobile numbers
  • Email/fax to registered contacts
  • Broadcast over ABC Geraldton & Perth, Radiowest & Hot FM

Saturday & Sundays BEFORE Christmas

The Chief Bush Fire Control Officer will impose harvest bans and the Shire of Goomalling will notify you through the methods listed above.

Saturday & Sundays AFTER Christmas

An automatic harvest/movement of vehicle ban will be imposed when the Bureau of Meteorology has issued the Fire Weather Forecasts as Very High or Extreme Fire Danger. The ban will remain in place until 7pm. Weather forecasts can be obtained from the Bureau of Meteorology on 9263 2260 from 6am-4.15pm seven days a week. Outside these hours contact 9263 2258 (24 hours) or visit www.bom.gov.au.

Public Holidays

Harvesting isn't permitted on:

  • Christmas Day - Friday 25 December 2009
  • Boxing Day - Saturday 26 December 2009
  • Sunday 27 December 2009
  • New Years Day -  Friday 1 January 2010
