Club visits Goomalling

Cheryl Henry reports on the WA chapter of the Australian Touring Caravan, Motorhome & Camping Club's recent weekend in Goomalling.

“We stayed at the very friendly caravan park in town. The weather did not deter any of us. We had a ‘happy hour’ with a few introductions to new faces. On Friday night the ladies were invited to a fashion show at Lareema Fashions. We had a wonderful time. Margaret and her husband were great hosts. We were joined by some of the local ladies. Three local ladies and a friend of Margaret’s were superb models. They strutted the cat walk displaying a variety of outfits for us to view. After the show we were invited to participate in a tasty supper. Some delightful purchases were made.

"The men were not left out. They went to the Farmers Club where they enjoyed fish and chips for tea. Thanks Goomalling for a wonderful night.

"On Saturday morning we visited the local museum, where Harold and Jan Forward gave us the guided tour and then off to Slater Homestead where we had a lovely Devonshire tea. Saturday afternoon gave us some free time in which to read, sleep, walk or watch TV.

"Happy hour in the campers’ kitchen was followed by an entertainment evening using brain power and luck.

"Some left on Sunday while others stayed on until Monday to enjoy lunch at the Railway Station. We are now looking forward to our week in Busselton.

Yours,

Cheryl Henry”
