Opened in August 2009, this fully self-contained two bedroom cottage with panoramic views is the latest addition to the range of accommodation available in Goomalling.

Chitibin Heights is a hobby farm established in 2004 by the Loomans family, primarily to escape the city. Owner Karyn Loomans said "We used to live by the coast with our two young boys but we wanted to experience the country lifestyle. Our 63 acre hobby farm runs a small number of sheep, alpacas, cows and chooks and produces some hay."

Set amongst rolling hills with attractive views of wide open spaces, Chitibin Heights Getaway includes a queen size bed, two single beds, a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and tea and coffee facilities, lounge, reverse cycle air-conditioning, private BBQ and patio, washer and dryer, iron and board, linen, digital TV, video and DVD player. "Our guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast which includes a choice of cereal, toast and juice," said Karyn.

How to get there

  • From Northam take Fitzgerald St, go through the traffic lights, cross the railway line and then turn left into Katrine Rd. Stay on this road which becomes Irishtown Road. About 12 km along turn right into Haddrill Rd, go about 13 km along, Chitibin Heights is on the right hand side.
  • From Toodyay or Goomalling, turn into Haddrill Rd and take second drive on the left hand side.
