Volunteering

There are lots of groups to become involved with that can build community and personal resilience. You might like to consider one of the organisations below.

  • Goomalling Lions Club welcomes new members and they are always looking for assistance with their recycling programs.
  • Goomalling Mens Shed members get together on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and support each other with a variety of activities and have equipment for mechanical and woodworking projects.
  • Goomalling and Konnongorring or Jennacubbine CWAs focus on sharing cooking, craft and self-improvement skills while providing services for our community.
  • Goomalling Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities meet periodically and members form working groups in areas of sustainability to participate in projects such as the Tip Shop, Op Shop and Friends of the Cemetery (all these sub groups are looking for volunteers).
  • Goomalling Youth Group Inc. would welcome assistance to help to build capacity in our young people and make them feel valued.
  • And don’t forget our School P & C and P & F welcome citizen’s support and the schools themselves have programs that encourage community involvement.
  • Goomal Yarning Group meets the Tuesday prior to the Council Meeting. This group is focused on achieving greater community inclusiveness, valuing all culture and growing awareness of Aboriginal culture.

Find more information on our local volunteering groups including their contact details on our volunteering page.

Belonging and volunteering gives great reward for a small investment of your time.
