Installed on Friday 14 August, the trail starts at the entrance the of recreation centre and takes you on a scenic and gentle walk around the town.

Goomalling Walk TrailThe Shire received funding through the Premiers Physical Activity Task Force to install the walk trail which leads you up Hoddy St past Sacred Heart School and the Goomalling Primary School, along Eaton St, down Throssell St and back along Quinlan St. Along the way you can learn about the history of Goomalling with ground plaques giving information about where historic buildings once stood. The Shire of Goomalling would like to thank the Physical Activity Task Force, WALGA, Lotterywest, Healthway and the Heart Foundation for their kind support for the project.

The Premiers Physical Activity Task Force also funded the Get the Vitality Pumping pedometer challenge held in November 2008 with the Shires of Goomalling, Toodyay and Chittering. Goomalling won the title of Most Active Town. The challenge was aimed at all ages in the communities to promote walking in the towns for physical activity. In conjunction with the project the Shire of Toodyay are developing a new walk trail brochure and Dowerin have developed a heritage trail brochure.
