Healthy Club Sponsorships
Incorporated clubs in a recognised sporting competition over the 09/10 Summer season may apply for up to $2500 for initiatives to make their club safer, healthier and to train and educate volunteers. Sponsorship funds can be used to purchase items including first aid equipment, club safety equipment, sunscreen, Responsible Service of Alcohol training, training and coaching courses for volunteers and parents as well as other initiatives.
In return for sponsorship, clubs are required to introduce some smoke free outdoor areas and to introduce strategies to address other health issues.
Clubs will also need to develop and introduce a Healthy Club Policy addressing the issues of smoking, sun protection, alcohol and healthy food choices.
