Swimming pool refurbishment

The light blue plaster will never need painting, thus saving on future maintenance costs. The replastering, plus new pipe lines and skimmer boxes, should give the pool another 12-15 years of life before more renovations will be needed. If this work hadn’t been done the Council would have been looking at a pool replacement cost exceeding $800,000 within a few years. The pool refurbishment was funded by the Royalties for Regions Program, which also provided funding for other projects including:

• new paving along Railway Terrace
• asphalting and new entry statement that will soon be added to the Goomalling Recreation Ground
• upgrades to the Goomalling Sports Complex including internal and external painting, new tiling and flooring, and
• new doors for the Sports Pavilion as well as internal and external painting.
