Want to be more prepared in the event of an emergency, but don’t know where to start?

Join Red Cross and DFES to help build your capacity to respond to hazards.

 

The ‘Emergency Ready’ and ‘Supporting the Supporter’ workshops aim to boost your preparedness and wellbeing in emergency.

 

Participants will learn how to reduce the impacts of emergencies, big or small, by being prepared.

                                    

DATE: Monday 29 April

LOCATION: Toodyay Memorial Hall, 117 Stirling Tce

SESSION TIMES:

2:00pm - 3:30pm - Emergency Ready

4:00pm - 5:30pm - Supporting the Supporter

6:00pm - 7:00pm - Emergency Ready

7:30pm - 8:00pm - DFES Community Preparedness

8:00pm - 9:00pm - Supporting the Supporter

 

 

The Emergency Ready Workshop includes:

  • Working with RediPlan booklet participants
  • Preparing mentally for the stress of an emergency
  • Understand hazards that may affect them
  • Knowing where and how to get relevant information before, during and after an emergency event
  • Packing an emergency kit
  • The importance of connecting into a personal support network.

 

The Supporting the Supporter Workshop includes:

  • What working in recovery environment is like.
  • How to support the community in a recovery environment
  • Self-care and wellbeing
  • Basic Psychological First Aid
