The Local Government Act 1995 (the Act) requires all local governments to have an Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC). The ARIC is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to Council regarding financial management, risk management, internal controls, legislative compliance, internal and external audit planning and reporting.
The ARIC comprises:
• An Independent Presiding Member (Chairperson);
• An Independent Deputy Presiding Member; and
• All seven (7) Elected Members of Council;
The Shire of Goomalling invites Expressions of Interest from interested persons to be appointed as Independent Deputy to the Presiding Member of its ARIC. The ARIC meets a minimum of four times per year in Council Chambers at the Shire’s Administration Office. Meetings may be held after business hours and will be open to the public as required by s.5.23 of the Act.
