Our community gathered on 20 June for a dynamic GO Circular – Be a Great Sort Program workshop delivered in partnership with Urban Revolution, welcoming an engaged group of 15 participants. This session built on the first two foundational workshops—composting methods and worm farming—which introduced residents to creating healthy soil from household organic waste.

We’re excited to welcome Gaia Leonardi to our community in Term 3. Gaia is an Italian ceramic artist and educator from Bottega Mirta Morigi in Faenza, bringing her unique blend of contemporary ceramics, creativity, and embodied learning.

The PHPlan has been developed in response to statutory requirements and produced through an evidence-based approach. The plan acknowledges the Shires existing health services and facilities, and sets adaptive objectives that are incorporate, and allow consideration for relevant regional initiatives and funding opportunities. Its strengthens based and supports key environmental health functions. The Plan is available to the community in a range of formats and encourages feedback that will inform annual reviews of objectives that inform strategic planning, collaborations and shared responsibility for health and community wellbeing.

The Shire of Goomalling is excited to announce the installation of several new pieces of equipment, made possible through the generous support of the Goomalling Community Opshop and the Goomalling & Districts Community Bank®.

The Shire of Goomalling has been successful in securing $20,343 through the Cook Labor Government’s Closed - Circuit Television (CCTV) Election Commitment Grant Program, enabling the replacement of the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera on the Railway Terrace tilt pole.

Two of Goomalling’s very own have been recognised at WALGA's Local Government Honour Awards held on Friday, 12 June 2026 at the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Natalie Bird received the Merit Award in recognition of notable contributions and service to WALGA, Local Government and/or the Local Government sector. Ex Shire President, Barry Haywood received the Eminent Service Award in recognition of significant and distinguished participation and contribution to WLAGA, Local Government and/or Local Government sector and demonstrated record of leadership and commitment to Local Government.

In October 2026, the Australian Government is launching AusAlert – a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices. They will be performing testing in Goomalling at 12:00pm on Friday 19th June 2026
