On 15 April 2026 Shire of Goomalling was honoured to warmly welcome new Australian citizens Elaine O’Hehir and Katey Hanlon.

The Shire of Goomalling has taken an important step forward in the development of its Recreation Master Plan, hosting a dedicated Youth Consultation Workshop at the Goomalling Town Hall on 16 April 2026.

Due to the recent weather Effective from 10:00am all unsealed roads within the Shire of Goomalling are CLOSED to heavy vehicles in excess of 4.5 tonne.

Community members are invited to help shape our Local Public Health Plan in accordance with the State Public Health Plan (2025-2030). Share your priorities on wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, environmental health, and community safety. Your feedback will guide local actions and identify key health needs. In 2026 there have been an extraordinary number of human - bat interactions reported to the Wheatbelt Public Health Unit. Across various Wheatbelt locations including in towns human - bat interactions have required treatment with post exposure prophylaxis for Australian Bat Lyssavirus.
