An Ordinary Postal Election will be held on Saturday, 18 October 2025 in the Shire of Goomalling to fill the following vacancies: District 3 Councillors 4 year terms District 1 Councillor 2 year term Nominations Open on Thursday, 28 August 2025 Nominations Close at 4:00pm Thursday, 4 September 2025

In accordance with Section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Goomalling hereby gives notice of its intention to impose differential rates on rateable property in the Shire of Goomalling in the 2025/2026 financial year.

Effective from 18 June 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting will commence from 5.00pm. This change in meeting start time will mean that public question time is from 5.00pm to 5.15pm, at the start of the meeting.

The Shire of Goomalling is offering the property at Lot 203 (No. 44) Goomalling-ToodyayRoad for sale by tender. The property consists of a vacant lot size 1.1875ha. The property has the ability to access scheme water and underground power. It is a corner lot with a winter creek and the land is gently sloping to the road frontage. The property is currently zoned Rural 1-Town Environs and residential development is permitted for a dwelling.

Credit surcharges were suspended upon the introduction of COVID safety measures in2020 when the use of cash was discouraged. That time has now well passed and due tothe high cost of accepting payment via EFTPOS, it has become necessary for these costs to be recouped.

Council is seeking comment on a proposed Rail Loading Facility and Sound Wall at CBH Konnongorring. By way of background, the Shire has received a Development Application to erect a new Rail Loading Facility and a Sound Wall at the above-mentioned property.

The Shire of Goomalling and the Department of Justice have been working together for the last 10 years. In this collaboration, minimum-security prisoners from the Dowerin Work Camp eligible for day release work with the Shire’s trained staff to learn skills that will aid employment when released from prison.

Collecting firewood for personal use is permitted in some forest area managed by the Department of Biodiversity Conversation and Attractions (DBCA). Most area designated for firewood collection are restricted to State forest located in DBCA's three forest regions, Swan, South West and Warren
