Council is seeking comment on a proposed shed and 1.8m fence on front boundary at Lot 118 (11) Forward Street, Goomalling WA 6460.

By way of background, the Shire has received a Development Application for a proposed shed in the south-east section plus a 1.8m high Colourbond fence on the front (Forward Street) boundary of the above mentioned property. The applicant also proposes 1.8m high fencing on the James Street and rear laneway boundaries.

The reason the Shire is seeking your comments is that the applicant proposes variations to the Residential Design Codes. This includes the applicant, at this stage, has not proposed a dwelling on the property. Additionally, the Residential Design Codes have a deemed-to-comply requirement that front fences are ‘visually permeable’ above 1.2m in height above natural ground level.
