A position exists for a person to undertake the duties of co-ordinator for the Yilgarn Local Action Group – Skeleton Weed. The successful person will be required to work as a part of a team for the Yilgarn Local Action Group – Skeleton Weed, and in partnership with Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development staff and other associated parties to provide a clerical/co-ordination role, to assist landholders to meet their responsibilities in controlling skeleton weed on their properties.

The Shire of Goomalling is looking for expressions of interest from entities to run, manage and promote historic Slater Homestead. The Slater Homestead has in the past been successfully utilized to hold extensive functions including weddings, birthday parties, corporate team building events, wake gatherings and school end of year parties. The asset provides and accommodates a bespoke experience that delivers a worthy memorable occasion for all.

In an inspiring display of community support and generosity, a vital food relief program is being provided to those in need once a month through a $50 voucher for Village Grocer, in addition to $500 per term for both Sacred Heart Catholic School and Goomalling Primary School to provide food relief to students via initiatives such as Breakfast Club. These initiatives are funded by Vinnies, a key organisation in social justice and assistance, and is strongly supported by Sacred Heart Church Goomalling, the Uniting Church, and the Shire of Goomalling. With such collaboration, this effort is helping ease the financial burden on families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet.

Reconstruction works commencing on the 21st July 2025

As part of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Grant Program, the town hall transformed into a vibrant hub of activity for the Biosphere Boodja Workshops, held from 9th -11th June and 5th-8th July 2025. Designed to foster intergenerational connections and celebrate the joy of hands-on creativity, these workshops brought together community members of all ages to collaborate, create, and share in the spirit of achievement.

Western Power will be conducting various works to power poles on Forward Street, Forrest Street and Hoddy Street on the 16th and 30th July 2025
