DFES have just launched a new People at Higher Risk page. It’s designed to support people who may face extra challenges during emergencies including older adults, people with disabilities, First Nations peoples and culturally diverse communities.
You can view the page here:
https://dfes.wa.gov.au/hazard-information/at-risk-communities
The page offers:
- A short self‑assessment quiz to help identify individual needs.
- Practical tools and accessible resources in Easy English and multiple languages.
- Guidance for service providers and support networks.
- Examples of community partnerships to build resilience and support networks.
DFES are encouraging you to:
- Share this resource with your networks.
- Integrate DFES tools into your own and your community’s emergency preparedness planning.
- Support people and communities at higher risk by promoting inclusive and accessible preparedness strategies.
