We’re letting you know that helicopter-based maintenance on insulators is continuing in your area. It’s all part of how we maintain the safety and reliability of the network.

What’s involved?
This essential maintenance addresses issues like dust, pollution, and sea salt that can build up on insulators. Using a helicopter to do this work means there's no need for power outages.
The process happens in two stages:
Stage 1: The helicopter sprays water to clean the insulators
Stage 2: We apply a protective silicone layer to keep the insulators in top shape.
Safety is our top priority
Our teams follow strict safety protocols and only fly when the weather is suitable. To help us maintain a safe working environment, we recommend moving livestock to another paddock during the scheduled maintenance, if possible.
Keep your land access details up to date
If you own property with Western Power assets but no active electricity supply, it’s important to update your contact details. This helps us keep in touch when we need to access your land.
You can update these details in our portal, where you’ll find a map to locate land parcels or search by pole number (e.g., S123456). Access the portal here.
