Mortlock Sports Council and Goomalling Shire Council have invested in 30kw worth of solar panels for the Goomalling Sport & Community Centre (GSCC). With increased refrigeration for a commercial kitchen and bar the electricity consumption of the facility has significantly increased.
By installing solar panels on the GSCC Council is endeavouring to reduce its environmental impact and minimise operational costs of the facility. The exercise will provide a sound case study for transitioning other Council and community facilities to solar power.
